MailZen Review – MY EXPERIENCE IN USING IT
I have used this product as a beta-tester and now, I am going to instruct you how to use Maxmailz in details.
You can trust my review. Every words in this article is from my personal experience and I will make it as real as possible.
To start off using Mailzen, you need to login to the website with your registered account and password. A visual dashboard of Mailzen will show up when you successfully login to. You can see the image below:
Your email campaigns’ performance statistics will be shown up here such as how you spend your credits
Or statistics of your recently sent campaign. Open rate is a measure that tells you how many delivered emails were opened by subscribers. And Click rate is a measure of how many people clicked on one of the links in your email campaign.
It also shows top countries by opens for you.
Mailzen dashboard illustrates the growth of your list in charts and lists top 5 campaigns based on its opens, campaign clicks and links clicks.
Now, let’s get started with creating list before sending emails. This is the main dashboard of List feature. All of your created lists will be listed here with some details such as the number of subscribers, the open rate or click rate. Click “create list” to create a new one.
Firstly, you need to provide identity information such as name, email, default from name (this is who your email will come from) and default email subject.
Next, you move to contact information. Here, you need to type all of required information as the image below.
And the final part of List is Settings. There are some setting up for subscription. When people subscribe to your list, send them a subscription confirmation email or send subscribers a final “Goodbye” email to let them know they have unsubscribed. In addition, when people opt-in to your list, send them an email welcoming them to your list. The final welcome email can be edited in the List -> Forms / Pages management. Remember that they are optional. You can enable or disable as you want. Finally, hit on “save” button.
Now, let’s create a new campaign. You click “campaign” section and all of your created campaigns will be shown up here with some statistics such as open rate or click rate. Hit “create campaign” button to have a new one.
firstly, you need to select campaign type. There are 2 types: regular and plain text. Regular type is the Campaign with HTML email content as well as images, links. This is the most common type. And the other one is to send a plain-text email without link tracking, images, or HTML. Pick “choose” button at the type you want.
After selecting type, you will go through 5 steps as following. First one is set up recipients. Choose one list/segment or more for sending email. Then hit “save and next” button.
Next step is setup site. You have to name you campaign here with email subject, from what name, what email and reply to whom. Furthermore, on the right side of the dashboard, there are some options for you to enable such as track opens (Discover who opens your campaigns by tracking the number of times an invisible web beacon embedded in the campaign is downloaded), track clicks (Discover which campaign links were clicked, how many times they were clicked, and who did the clicking) or add DKIM signature (Sign your email with your sending domain (if any), telling receiving email servers that your email is actually coming from you. This is to help establish the authenticity of your email, improving delivery rate).
And here’s the important part – template. It is for creating content of your email. There are 3 options fo you to manage content. The first one is select from a template layout which helps you to craft your email based off a pre-built layout. The second one is from a theme. You will not need to create an email from scratch, DFY templates are for you. And the last one is to upload your own template in ZIP format.

And after the campaign content was successfully updated, you need to choose one of builders below to edit.
If you go with email builder pro, there will be a drag and drop editor for you to edit campaign as you want. At the right side of dashboard, lots of elements for you to put on the campaign such as widget, layout and tags. Choose one and then drop it to the position you want.
There are many tools for you to edit text or paragraph. You can see in the image below.

In case you want to design a new one or choose new from template, you can click on “Design” part.
Many templates will be listed here with preview in case you want to change.
Two kinds of screen: desktop and mobile. You can pick one you like.
After design content of email campaign, you can drag and drop your local files to upload zone to attach file into the campaign email. Your email will be sent with that follow files. Next, click “next”.
Now, let’s set up a schedule for your email campaign.
And finally, you are all set to send. Review the feedback before sending your campaign. Click “edit” if you want. You can preview your email campaign or send a test email to yourself before hitting on “send” button.
After you successfully create a new email campaign, you can edit it or see an overview via statistics button as the image below.
Click on “statistics”, here is the inside. It shows you the recipients information and some database like opened rate, clicked emails rate, bounced or reported rate, etc. you can see the image below to know more.

Below are the details of subscriber activity (opens and clicks) measured for this campaign during the last 24 hours.
It shows top countries by clicks and by opens as well.
And I have shown you the most important feature of Mailzen. Moreover, Mailzem allows you to add new automations.
You need to name your new automation, choose a mail list and then get started.
Looking at the right side of Automation dashboard, it is general information of the automation. You can update the settings and click “save” button. You also have to click the black box to add a trigger to start creating new automation.
There are some triggers for you to choose. A trigger is the action that starts an automation. MailZen offers a wide selection of preset automation types with built-in triggers, ranging from abandoned cart emails to a simple welcome message.
After choosing trigger, you will have to choose action by clicking on “+” symbol to create an automation. It is to streamline your communication and personalize each customer’s experience.

Set your automation workflow wait for a while before proceeding with next action. How long do you want to wait, please choose below.
Or choose one of the conditions below for your workflow. MailZen will evaluate the condition and branch off your workflow accordingly.

And the final feature is Done-for-you templates. Mailzen gives you an access to a massive DFY beautiful templates for you to use. You can upload your own theme or create a new from scratch.
Sending servies allows you add a sending server which will actually send out your campaign emails. You can configure a standard SMTP connection or connect to a 3rd services like Amazon SES, SendGrid, Mailgun, ElasticEmail, Sparkpost… You can also take advantage of the the hosting server’s email capability by creating a “PHP Mail” or “Sendmail” sending server.
Sending domain is used to verify the sender whose email address appearing in the FROM header of an email. Add your own verified sending domains to send emails on your or your organization’s behalf.
Email verification servers allows you to connect to 3rd mail verification services/servers. After adding the verification services/servers, you can go to the Mail List’s setting page to manage verification processes.
